Mason-Dixon 5K & 10K Run

Are the courses hilly?  I guess that depends upon where you live!  Most would consider the hills on these courses to be "gently rolling" but, if you live in the plains of Kansas, you'll think the hills are gigantic!  The good news is that you'll hardly notice the inclines when you're taking in the beautiful scenery as you run along the Links at Gettysburg golf course and the rural farmland.

Both courses start at the Harney Volunteer Fire Company and turn onto Mason Dixon Road at the half-mile mark.  Just before the 1-mile marker, the 5K course will turn into one of the Links at Gettsyburg developments where you'll run alongside the picturesque No. 3 golf hole with its red rock backdrop, before turning back to the finish line.  The 10K course goes straight at the 1-mile marker and enjoys views of many of the Links golf holes before passing by several local farms, eventually turning around and heading back to the finish line.

Of the two courses, the 10K is more challenging with more rolling hills but that's why those finishers get a medal!
