The Courses
Are the courses hilly? I guess that depends upon where you live! Most would consider the hills on these courses to be "gently rolling" but, if you live in the plains of Kansas, you'll think the hills are gigantic! The good news is that you'll hardly notice the inclines when you're taking in the beautiful scenery as you run along the Links at Gettysburg golf course and the rural farmland.
Both courses start at the Harney Volunteer Fire Company. The 5K heads north and turns left onto Mason Dixon Road at the half-mile mark. Just before the 1-mile marker, the 5K course will turn into one of the Links at Gettsyburg developments where you'll run alongside the picturesque No. 3 golf hole with its red rock backdrop, before turning back to the finish line. The 10-miler course heads south, through picturesque rural Harney, tree-lined country roads and local farms before turning north, crossing into Pennsylvania toward historic Gettysburg before turning back toward the finish line.
Of the two courses, the 10-Miler is more challenging with more rolling hills but that's why those finishers get a medal!

Packet Pick-up
Packet pick-up will be at Harney Volunteer Fire Company, located at:
5130 Harney Road
Taneytown, MD 21787
on August 28, 2020 from 4:00PM - 8:00PM.
Course maps will be available if you'd like to preview the courses before the race.
Alternatively, we will have packet pick-up available on Race morning starting at 5:30AM.
In a year in which most races are being cancelled, this is a great opportunity to run a late summer race with beautiful country landscapes that cross over the Mason-Dixon line!
Both courses are very scenic, along the beautiful Links at Gettysburg golf course and along relaxing country roads and farms..

Support our Local Youth
All proceeds from our races benefit the Youth for Christ Scholarship Fund to help local 11-19 year old students attend life-changing camps and other events.
Like the Mason Dixon Run, the Youth for Christ non-profit organization crosses state lines in serving students in area high schools and middle schools in York and Adams Counties in Pennsylvania and Carroll and Baltimore Counties in Maryland.
